  • The Pilgrimage

    As I start unpacking
    In my tent at the Mahakumbh ground,
    I hear my parents’ spontaneous laughter-
    For the canvas walls muffle no sound.


    There has been a minor mishap it seems,
    Involving her missing socks on his frosty feet.
    More laughter, my heart sings-
    The pilgrimage is already complete.
